Sat Sangat Yoga Therapy training is structured in a hybrid format, combining the best aspects of online and residential learning. This format helps us ensure access and peace of mind to all who wish to join our training. We offer mentorship, supervision, and expert training to our students as they gain the skills and competencies needed to succeed as professional yoga therapists.

Sat Sangat's Level 1 yoga therapy program consists of fourteen mandatory modules and six electives from which students may select according to preference, to achieve the required 800 hours for certification. Level 2 offers a further 200 hours of elective training which focuses on imbalances in pregnancy, spiritual birth-doula training, death-doula training, and ancestral lineage cleansing.

Sat Sangat's training is rooted in Tantra, Hatha, and Kundalini Yoga. SSYT inculcates a deep understanding within therapists of their own healing processes by weaving together the study of Patanjali's sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, neuroscience, physical and subtle anatomy, the science of breath, the art and science of meditation, and Ayurveda. The emphasis of SSYT training is on the healer healing themselves, and in the process, learning how to help others do the same.

Each module weaves together perspectives of Yogic philosophy and Western science to create a future where the intermingling of indigenous healing systems and contemporary healing systems takes place for the greatest good. Every module contains foundational (theory and philosophy) knowledge and application methods (how to use the theory and philosophy to heal illness) embedded within it.

SSYT's training has the groundbreaking perspective of rooting yoga therapy within pre-existing African (and other) indigenous knowledge healing systems, and revealing the common ground they share today. This diverse approach to yoga therapy encourages greater understanding of first peoples' healing systems, and honours the ancestral roots of us all. We believes that social justice is a spiritual practice and we aim to bring diversity into healing practices globally.
